I feel like I’ve been sick for the longest time! And I’m STILL sick! I just can’t get over this bug that’s invaded my precious throat/lungs/mouth. It has been five, count them FIVE days where I have had to sleep in the guest bedroom without my husband and more importantly without my dogs! I feel like I should have rock-hard abs at this point from all of the coughing I’ve done. (But I don’t…)
So let’s see so far my 2009 has been filled with car trouble and illness…what else could go wrong? Well, considering we’re only in the 2nd full week of it a lot.
And don’t even get me started on my doctor. Does anyone else have this problem with their doctor? He literally “examines” me for maybe 2 minutes and exclaims, “You have an infection!” I was unaware you could deduce that by looking at my throat for 5 seconds and NOT doing a throat culture! Am I bitter?! YES! To say the least! Mainly because he put me on this stuff called “Magic Mouthwash” that A. hasn’t helped and B. tastes like medicine mixed with dog farts! (Not MY dog’s farts of course–they smell like roses!)
Needless to say I’m still coughing, I still have a swollen tonsil and I’ve stopped taking my medicine. I think NyQuil will solve all problems. At least Dr. Angela says so. If not I’m cutting my own tonsils out…
Because I’m grumpy I’m putting old pictures of the dogs in where the grass is green and the sunshine was out past 5:00pm. And for some reason the pictures look better off my OLD camera! More bitterness coming out…
That sucks!! Have you tried those “Minute Clinics” that are in CVS’s in Edmond. You’re in, you’re out and you have the medicine you need.
Wow, that magic mouthwash sounds very…..tasty.
Yeah there are good doctors and bad doctors, I always remind myself that THEY work for ME and I can always fire them. 🙂
The dog pictures are great, though, makes me think of nice weather and no yucky snow.
Well, I hope you feel better, sometimes these things take time. 😦
I had this the week after Christmas and it sucks big time. I felt like I was trying to swallow my tonsils they were so swollen. It lasted a week too! I hope you feel better soon!
I say, “Bottoms Up to dog fart medicine!”
Sorry you’re sick! That sucks!
Glad your feeling well enough to post!
I’m sorry you’ve been so sick! So many bugs this year – it seems worse than usual to me… Feel better!
Well it bites that you’re still feeling like crap! I know when I get one of those lung issues it seems they last for 3 to 4 weeks. Gee did that just cheer you up? Just think….2 more weeks and you could be feeling better!
I’m in the process of firing all of my doctors. The 30min-2 hour wait in the waiting room just isn’t worth the 2-5 mins I spend being checked out. I feel your pain.
Magic mouthwash? What a load of crap! You need cough syrup with codine. I’m prescribing it for you right now. Dr. Rhea will have you fixed up in no time.
Hang in there, sweetie, hope you feel better soon!
My doc is annoying the you know what outta me right now, too.
Hope you feel better,
Nat
I hope you get better really soon, so if for no other reason you can cuddle the dogs again!
Sorry you feel cruddy 😦 Get to feeling better soon!!!
I wish I could cure you. If you were where I live I’d tell you it was Cedar Fever and you needed an allergist. Since you’re not I’m clueless. Hope you feel better soon!
Magic Mouthwash? That is not for a cough/cold. Find a new MD. NOW. No one should have this crud for 5 weeks.
Gagging over the description of the “magic mouthwash.” Yucky!
Here’s to hoping you feel much better, very soon. Poor thing!
So sorry to hear you are sick. The cold bug that is going around here seems to be hanging on as well…yuck!
Feel better soon – you are missed!
Aww, that sucks. How is “Magic Mouthwash” going to fix anything? And I wouldn’t want anything that smells like Spike’s ass. OMG EW.
Feel better soon. And fire the Doctor.
I’ve been wondering what had happened to you – glad to see you surfaced long enough to let us in on your happenings. Here’s some magic get well dust!
I was sick for almost three weeks with a nasty cough/cold. It was miserable. I took a lot of NyQuil and Sudafed. Sudafed really helped the most because I was so congested at night. It actually helped clear me up. Get some!
Yikes. Hope you get feeling better.
hope you kick the crud soon. the summer pics of the dogs brightened my day 🙂
ugh so sorry you are still sick. i hate when dr’s don’t really look/talk to you. they just assume. grrrreeeaaaat.
Yummm….. dog farts in a bottle! That sounds appetizing!
I hope you feel better soon or else we’ll all have to go talk business with this doctor of yours!
I had to use magic mouthwash. Don’t know if it is the same but all my food tasted just like it! So gross! You need a day in the sun, laying in the backyard on the green grass with the puppies. Then you’ll feel better.
Hope you feel better soon, I have never heard of that Magic mouthwash, sounds gross. They should have done a throat culture, both my hubby and i had strep throat a month ago and its horrible.
A. Find a new doctor. B. Report the old doctor. C. Pour that nasty mouthwash down the sink! EWWWWW!
Hope you feel better soon. Being sick is miserable, but being sick as long as you have been is AWFUL!
I’m sorry you’re still sick! And I definitely think you need a new doctor. Perhaps you could try some Pop’rs on a bowl of ice cream?
Oh, so sorry to hear you are sick. Isn’t that the worst? Feel better!
Sorry you feel bad! Your doggies are adorable…do they keep you warm at night? 🙂
Oh, again, I am so sorry. I HATE when Doctors don’t give the time needed to really check things out. We had a pediatrician that would look at the kid, turn her back and start writing prescriptions. Once she wrote down SIX. When I got home and read them all, I refused to give him one– then she threatened to report me to CPS for neglect!
About the tonsilectomy (sp?)– you may want to have the husband assist in case you pass out while cutting.
Things we learned with Sweetie’s battle with cancer:
1. be your own advocate
2. doctors are swamped and anything “out of the ordinary” is very easily overlooked
3. arm yourself with tons of info before going to an appointment
Dr. Google can either turn you into a total crazed lunatic or help you figure out what is going on. Luckily, in our case, Dr. Google was of big help. We were SO determined to get him the care he needed when his signs of cancer were progressing so quickly. We would not take no for an answer and got him the help he needed. Since, we learned about two people (friends of friends) that passed away from his same type of cancer, b/c they did not get the proper care in time. FIGHT for yourself girl.
